- Characteristics: Brewer's yeast is a by-product of beer production. During fermentation, when the sugar turns into alcohol, the yeast in the tanks multiply very quickly. The yeast obtained in this way is dried and used most often as a powder that binds well to other ingredients, especially when mixing wet feed.
The color of the powder is light brown, with a characteristic, pleasant, bitter smell and taste. Dried yeast has a consistency similar to fine, semi-coarse flour.
Brewer's yeast is a source of highly digestible nitrogenous substances - proteins. Their biological value is particularly expressed by the content of vital amino acids that the animal organism cannot synthesize on its own, such as lysine, methionine, cystine, leucine, valine, isoleucine, etc.
The high biological value is also due to the very favorable content of group B vitamins, especially thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), pyridoxine (B6) and pantothenic acid (B3), but also the content of minerals and trace elements - especially phosphorus, potassium, iron, copper and zinc. Dried brewer's yeast is suitable as an addition to the basic feed for all types and categories of dogs - weaned puppies, dogs after an illness, old dogs, or with increased stress.
Indicative dosage and use:
Dogs up to 10 kg: 2 - 5 g / day
Dogs up to 25 kg: 6 - 10 g / day
Dogs up to 40 kg: 11 - 15 g / day
Dogs up to 65 kg: 16 - 25 g / day
Dogs over 65 kg: 26 - 35 g / day
If the dog willingly accepts brewer's yeast, it is possible to increase their daily dose by 50 - 100% - e.g. for dogs under very high stress, in winter, to improve health, increase weight, etc.
Divide the daily dose of yeast evenly into individual portions of moistened food (it sticks to it, does not become dusty and the dog will eat it without any residue) and mix it well. Use a suitable oil or fat for dogs to moisten. For smaller doses, you can also apply them once.
Start the dog on lower doses and increase them as necessary, depending on the willingness to take food. Brewer's yeast is a natural product that can be fed even for a longer period of time - months. E.g. in convalescents, active dogs, etc.
Storage and consumption:
Store in a dry and dark place in PVC packaging up to 20 °C. Consume ideally within 10 months of purchase.
