Salmon oil Naturál Extra is an excellent natural and very rich source of energy. There are 3.4 MJ = 812.6 kcal in 100 g of salmon oil! For comparison: in 100 g of beef there is 0.49 MJ = 117.1 kcal. Salmon oil is also a unique, natural source of unsaturated fatty acids, so-called Omega 3 + DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid).
- Possible uses: Salmon Oil Extra is suitable as an energy additive and flavoring for coating pasta, low-fat granules, lean meat, vegetables, etc. It has an excellent effect on the quality and shine of the coat, which is its greatest domain. It alleviates the manifestations of skin allergies, improves the energy balance of metabolism, etc.
The dosage of 5 - 10% / kg is most often used, that is, 50 - 100 ml / kg of feed, depending on the fat content of the feed. An appropriate amount is mixed into a single ration.
The amount of added salmon oil also depends on the fat content of the food used, the size of the dog, its physical activity, the season, its health, or your personal experience with its given individuality.
The total fat content in the feed should be up to 20%, max. up to 22%. This means that if the feed contains, for example, 15% fat, add 5-7% salmon oil to it.
If you are new to using fish oils, start with the lowest dose listed.
- Storage and consumption: Salmon oil is sensitive to ultraviolet radiation - direct sunlight, and long-term (months) to higher temperatures (over approx. 24 °C). Therefore, store it in dark bottles or in the dark, ideally up to 15 °C, or max. at room temperature. However, it does not mind short-term heating, e.g. during transport by car in the summer, and if it freezes and precipitates - let it warm up at room temperature, it will be clear again.
Salmon Oil Extra is food grade, but it is handled (storage, bottling, etc.) in a feed environment, so we cannot recommend it for human consumption.
Stored in optimal conditions, consume within 10 months. To preserve the maximum nutritional value, preferably within 6 months.
