Raw egg white contains the glycoprotein Avidin, which has the ability to bind Biotin (vitamin B7) and can cause Biotin deficiency in the body if raw eggs are consumed for a longer period of time. Another unpleasant protein in raw egg white for dogs is Ovomucoid, which can most often cause egg allergy in sensitive individuals. Fortunately, both of these substances are quite thermolabile, which means that even a short exposure to higher temperatures will destroy them! They have no negative effect on the dog.
